Web Design – Staying On Track
Keep these in mind while you are going through the web design process
The process of building a new website can be lengthy with a number of factors affecting the duration. Here are few things you can do to make sure that deadlines are met.
Providing timely feedback is the most important thing that you can do when building a new website. No word of a lie, we have had a website that took over 18 months to complete simply because the client took several weeks every time we needed feedback on something.
The important thing for you as a client to understand are the stages of designing a website and what the purpose of each stage is. Generally the web design process begins with wireframes, followed by graphic design and content creation. Then the design is coded and the content is integrated into the website. At that point the site is soft-launched in a staging environment where you can see it and interact with it. After some tweaking and bug fixes, it site launches for the world to see.
Content creation is as important as the web design itself. Without content, your website will have some placeholder text and images, and that’s about it. Web content is more than text; it also includes images, videos, and files for download. Often customers underestimate their ability to deliver content on time, which often results in delays and unexpected costs.
